Updated October 5, 2026. This policy covers Halfsies at halfsies.dev and the Halfsies iOS app, operated by Isaac Audet.
Progress, streaks and preferences are stored on your device. Daily results and cut planes are sent to our server to show result distributions and other players’ cuts. These records do not include a player name or account. Recent cut samples are periodically removed after 45 days; aggregate result counts may be retained to preserve game history.
Our server counts successful share and copy actions by day, mode, method and content type. The share counter stores no player identifier, cookie, recipient or IP address. A successful share action does not tell us whether a recipient opened the link. Sharing itself uses the destinations you choose on your device.
The iOS app uses Capgo to deliver JavaScript and asset updates. Capgo receives a randomly generated, app-scoped device identifier, app and bundle versions, platform and operating-system information, and update lifecycle and failure diagnostics. This supports compatible update delivery, device counts, troubleshooting and reliability. The identifier is not an advertising identifier or hardware identifier; it can persist through normal iOS reinstalls. We do not set it to a name, email address or account ID. Capgo does not use it to track you across other developers’ apps or websites. See Capgo’s privacy policy.
Optional Google Analytics counts visits, games started and finished (mode, day and score), rounds and shares. On the website it recognizes return visits with a first-party cookie (_ga) holding a random identifier; in the iOS app the same events go to Google Analytics through Firebase, which uses a random app identifier instead and never reads the advertising identifier. Neither is linked to a name or account, and Google signals and advertising personalization are off. In the EU, the EEA, the UK and Switzerland it stays off until you allow it; elsewhere it is on unless you turn it off, and a browser’s Global Privacy Control signal counts as off. You can change this choice in Stats. Website error monitoring uses Sentry to diagnose failures; it is not enabled in the bundled iOS app. Server share counts and game results operate independently of optional analytics.
Vercel Web Analytics counts page views on the website: the page, the site you came from, and your country, browser and kind of device. It uses no cookie and no identifier, and leaves out the codes in a link. It is off once you say no to analytics, or when your browser sends Global Privacy Control. The iOS app doesn’t use it.
Vercel hosts the website and API; Neon stores game result and share-counter data. Hosting services process network information such as IP addresses to serve requests. Our write-rate limiter stores a salted hash that changes daily rather than the address itself, with expired counters periodically cleaned up after approximately two days.
No account is required to play. Clearing your browser or app storage removes local progress but does not remove server records. For help, privacy questions or deletion requests, contact isaac@trimautomation.com. Include enough information to locate the relevant record; anonymous aggregate counts cannot be attributed to a particular player.
The website may show ads from Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads, and, where you allow it, to personalize them based on your visits to this and other sites. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Google's consent message asks before any of this is stored. You can learn more, and opt out of personalized ads, at Google's advertising page and Ad Settings. The iOS app does not load AdSense.
The iOS app offers optional Google AdMob rewarded videos (an extra life in Endless, or a streak freeze) that play only when you choose to watch one. It shows no banner ads. We request non-personalized ads and do not request permission to access the advertising identifier.
Google's Mobile Ads SDK may collect IP addresses (which can indicate approximate location), app- or developer-scoped device identifiers, ad impressions and interactions, crash logs, and performance information to deliver and measure advertising, prevent fraud, and diagnose problems. We do not send your account details, purchases, or puzzle answers to AdMob. See Google's Privacy Policy.
Where required, Google's consent form appears before an ad is requested. You can reopen it using “Ad privacy choices” on the home screen. Ads remain disabled when consent information cannot be obtained or does not permit ad requests.
